Board Members

Sara Moyo

Sara Moyo is one of the founding members of Zimbabwe Women Lawyers Association (ZWLA) and the current Chair of the Board of ZWLA. Sara is a senior Partner in the law firm of Honey & Blanckenberg where she heads the Intellectual Property Department of her firm.

Sara commenced legal practice as a general practitioner in the Litigation Department where she dealt with commercial law and family law.  She also has wide experience in human rights litigation having been actively involved in the Test Case Programme of the Legal Resources Foundation, whose Board she previously chaired.

Sara is President of the Zimbabwe Institute of Patent and Trademark Agents, a member of the TOPC OAPI/ARIPO Subcommittee of the International Trademark Association anda Board member of the Institute of Creative Art for Progress. She is also a member of the following professional bodies:

  • Law Society of Zimbabwe
  • Licensing Executives Society of South Africa
  • International Bar Association

 

Sara is a contributor to the Zimbabwe Chapter of the Kluwer Manual on Intellectual Property and is ranked in the Chambers Guide to leading intellectual property attorneys. 

 Florence Ziumbe is the visionary, founder and current president of the Professional Women Executives and Business Women's Forum (PROWEB). An attorney in private practice for the past 26 years, Ziumbe has experience in corporate,commercial, empowerment, aviation, construction and family law and has been principal attorney on many key country projects. Ziumbe has sat on in excess of forty board positions of public and private companies since 1982 and currently sits on the boards of several Zimbabwe Stock Exchange-listed and non-listed companies, including a commercial bank. In addition, she has invested in the earthmoving, civil engineering and construction sectors. As a lawyer and a partner in Ziumbe & Partners Legal Practitioners, she specialises in commercial work and has transactional experience. She holds a Bachelor of Law (Hons) from the University of Zimbabwe and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree, also from the University of Zimbabwe. She brings a wealth of experience to ZWLA.

Kuda Chitsike 

Kudakwashe Chitsike is the Director of the Research and Advocacy Unit (RAU) with 14 years of experience working on human rights, democracy and governance issues in Zimbabwe, having worked with organisations such as Hivos, Idasa and Transparency International(Zimbabwe). She holds an LLM in International Public Law from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa.  Kuda Chitsike has written extensively on transitional justice, democracy and governance with special emphasis on women's issues. She is a research adviser for the Adult Rape Clinic, chairperson of the Tree of Life Trust, a Curriculum Advisory Committee member of the Institute of Security Studies' African Centre for Peace and Security Training. She brings to the ZWLA Board a wealth of experience in Human Rights.

Milidzani Faith Masiye Moyo

Milidzani Faith Masiye-Moyo, is a legal Practitioner with experience from various legal spheres. She commenced her legal career as an attorney at a Law Firm in Bulawayo in 1998. She practiced for two and half years before joining the city of Bulawayo in the year 2000 as a Legal Officer of the Municipality. She left the city of Bulawayo in April 2003 to join the lower bench in Botswana as a Magistrate Grade 11. She rose through the ranks and when she resigned in February 2013 to rejoin her family in Zimbabwe, she held the position of Senior Magistrate. She is admitted to practice in Botswana. She is currently a partner in the law firm of Masiye-Moyo And Associates in Bulawayo and specializes in Family Law and Conveyancing and Notarial Practice. She is a member of the Bulawayo Lawyers Association and has been a member of Botswana Association of Judges and Magistrates as well as the International Women Judges Association. She holds a Bachelor of Laws LLB(Hons) degree from the University of Zimbabwe as well as an intermediate Certificate from the Chartered Institute of Secretaries of Zimbabwe(C.I.S.Z).
